Following the death of IIT Bombay student Sahil Wakode, serious allegations have been raised against Professor Suryanarayan Doolla, and an FIR has been registered against him. Meanwhile, faculty forums at IIT Kanpur and IIT Indore have issued statements in support of Doolla, calling for a fair, transparent and time-bound investigation. Faculty forums at IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi and IIT Madras had earlier also expressed support for him. This report looks at the case, the ongoing investigation and what the IIT faculty forums have said.
