The battle between the real and fake factions in Mamata Banerjee’s party, which split into two factions after the Bengal Assembly elections, has now reached the Election Commission. On Thursday, after hearing both sides, the Election Commission froze both the TMC’s symbol and name for the by-elections in Nandigram and Rajnagar. This decision of the Commission has dealt a major blow to both Mamata Banerjee and Ritabrata Banerjee. The Election Commission has ordered both factions to submit their preferences for three new names and three free symbols by 11 am today.
