Actor Imran Khan has been asked to leave India by October 28 following a notice issued by the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO). The notice came after Imran, a US citizen and OCI cardholder, participated in a protest demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. BJP leader Kirit Somaiya had filed a complaint alleging that his participation violated the rules.
CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke has questioned Bollywood’s silence over the notice and urged the film industry to stand up for Imran. He also took a sarcastic dig by referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s famous question about eating mangoes. Dipke further questioned why American singer Mary Millben can express support for the BJP while Imran faces action for his political views.
