The arrest of Jyoti Malhotra has exposed a deeper conspiracy tied to Pakistan’s ISI, revealing how technology and social media were used to operate a spy network in India.Sources say Malhotra had built contacts as far as the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, a region notorious for terrorist activity. Investigators believe the ISI module strategically recruited individuals with large social media influence—not just to gather intel, but to project a positive image of Pakistan online.
The Haryana-based vlogger is currently being interrogated by a joint team from the NIA, IB, and Haryana Police. Officials say she has been evasive and tried to mislead the probe.
Initially, Malhotra denied ties with Danish alias Ehsan Dar, a Pakistani High Commission official who was expelled by India on May 13. However, digital forensics revealed she deleted chats with him from her phone.
