Ankita Bhandari Case: Ankita Bhandari’s parents and several Congress leaders were detained by Delhi Police during a protest at India Gate in the early hours of October 15. The police arrived at around 4 AM. All those detained were later released. Congress leaders alleged that protesters were manhandled and questioned the police action against a family demanding justice.
Earlier, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra had met Ankita’s parents at India Gate on October 14 and supported their demand for justice. The protesters are seeking a pause on Dushyant Kumar Gautam’s appointment as Sikkim Governor until the alleged VIP connection in Ankita Bhandari’s murder case is investigated.
