A huge glacier burst over Pang village, about 25 km from Joshimath. Due to which the Dhauli river got flooded. After this there was avalanche and due to the glacier flood, the Rishi Ganga Power Project suffered major damage. Some suspension bridges came under its grip. Apart from this, some areas of the Dam of Tapovan hydroelectric project under construction of NTPC also fell in its grip.
