With the announcement of BJP’s latest candidates’ list for the 2021 Bengal assembly election, multiple party units across the length and breadth of the state saw rebellion among its own party workers. Malda, Dum Dum in North 24 Parganas, Jalpaiguri, Asansol saw BJP workers protesting and vandalizing their own party offices on Thursday. Dum Dum witnessed an agitation by BJP supporters against the Rajarhat Gopalpur and Dum Dum candidates. BJP supporters set tires on fire and chanted slogans to protest against BJP candidate Samik Bhattacharya, who has been fielded from the Rajarhat Gopalpur seat. The BJP office in Dum Dum was also vandalized allegedly by BJP workers.
