The political equations of many districts have changed after the list out of reserved seats for the panchayat elections in Uttar Pradesh. One such case is from Deoria district. After the seat was reserved for the backward classes, a man preparing to contest the village head for the last several years got his son married into a backward class family so that the daughter-in-law could be elected and the Pradhan. In Narayanpur village of Tarkulwa block of Deoria district, this time the seat has been reserved for backward classes. Sarfaraz Ahmed, who belongs to the general category, lost in the 2015 elections by just 28 votes.
