Siwan, one of the 40 loksabha seats in Bihar is seeing a tough electoral battle between Hena Sahab, candidate of Laloo Yadav’s RJD and Kavita Singh from JDU. Hena is the wife of infamous criminal and former RJD MP Shahabuddin. Shahabuddin once ruled Siwan. In this very city there is a place named JP Chowk where Comrade Chandrashekhar Prasad, fondly called Chandu by friends and supporters was murdered in broad daylight on March 31, 1997. Chandrashekhar was elected president of JNU student union twice. He was raising voice against Shahabuddin. Shahabuddin was the prime accused in this murder case, but he was later acquitted.
