8 June 1985. Assam-Nagaland border. A large number of Nagaland Police personnel attacked the Mirapani police station in Assam. At the root of the dispute is the ongoing fencing work on the border of Nagaland and Assam. Soon this police clash turned into a big battle. Heavy violence lasted for 4 hours. 41 people were killed, more than 50 were injured. Among those killed were 28 Assam Police personnel. Such panic spread in the area that 25 thousand people left the area and fled. This is just one incident about Assam-Nagaland Border. It’s an ongoing conflict and able to trigger more violence.
