In this edition of Tarikh, Nikhil narrates the story of the Poonia murder case. It’s a bizarre case where the daughter of former MLA Relu Ram Poonia murdered her father and 7 other family members including 2 young children and an infant. Sonia’s Husband was an accomplice in the murders. It is believed that the reason behind the murders is property dispute. The couple was convicted of the murder charges and sentenced to death by the district court. The sentence was later reduced to life imprisonment.
