In this episode, Saurabh will talk about rising status of militant group Tahrik-e-Taliban Pakistan TTP. Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has announced a reunification with Jamaat-ul-Ahrar (JuA) and Hizbul Ahrar. Experts have warned that this could be the beginning of increasingly hostile activities against Pakistan.
TTP is a banned Pakistani militant organization. It has connection to Afghan Taliban and it draws its ideological roots from al-Qaida.The group was founded in 2007 in North Waziristan by Baitullah Mehsood. Since then, TTP has maintained a militant presence along the border between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
In coming months, TTP might increase attacks against Pakistani targets in the tribal areas. Group’s new leader is Noor wali mehsood who has good relations with Mulla Baradar. Pakistan has warned Taliban, not to allow TTP of using Afghanistan as a terror launch pad. Taliban has replied that it cannot restrain TTP but will ask them to hold a peace process with Pakistan.
