On Saturday, reports of some Hindutva organizations disrupting Christmas celebrations came to light from many states of the country. In Assam’s Silchar district, Bajrang Dal activists assaulted members of the Hindu community celebrating the Christmas festival. Similarly, in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, Hindu organizations burnt an effigy of Santa and protested against the alleged conversion by Christian missionaries. On Friday, 24 December, after reaching the Christmas program of a school in Gurugram, Haryana, people who identified themselves as Hindu organizations raised slogans of ‘Jai Shri Ram’.
