The US is now considering what level of cooperation from the Taliban may be needed against ISIS-K, which now holds power in Afghanistan. General Mark A Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, called the Taliban “a brutal group”, but clarified on cooperation with the Taliban, saying, “In war, you do what you ought to do.”
