The central government has defended the sedition law in the Supreme Court. The government said that there is no need to review the law. The government, in a written reply to the court, referred to the Kedarnath Singh vs State of Bihar case. According to the government, that decision was given by a five-judge bench, under which the law of sedition is correct.
