The lake Titicaca is the largest lake in South America and one of the highest in the world. I went on an Island tour from the Peruvian side to discover how people used to live here. Starting with the artificial floating reed Islands of the Uros I continued with “Amantani Island” where I stayed with a family before finishing the trip on “Taquile Island” on the next day.

This tour is possibly the most popular thing to do at the lake Titicaca which also means that this affects the way the inhabitants live today and use the tourism industry as their main source of income. Nevertheless the landscape and the panoramic views you come to see are impressive and unique.
