The Inca citadelle Choquequirao is one of the largest in Peru – in extension even bigger than Machu Picchu. Only accessible via a 3 day hike (day 4 is for the way back) chances are high that you’ll be there almost alone compared to MP. The trail itself is challenging but you’ll be rewarded by stunning views and great landscape!
