Ever since the farmers movement has started, it is being highlighted that the farmers have to fight for the price of the crop they produce. On the other hand, a report shows that India’s ranking in the Global Hunger Index (GHI) is 103. The government spends 1.5 lakh crore rupees every year on distributing cheap food grains. But there is also a shocking fact that a huge amount of grain is wasted in the country. A study of 2016 shows that about 92,651 crore rupees of agricultural produce are wasted every year. These figures confirm PM Modi’s appeal in which he has talked about increasing the capacity of food storage.
