In response to the recent spike in Covid-19 cases in Karnataka, Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa on Sunday appealed to the people to cooperate with the directions being issued by the government and to adhere to preventive measures in order to avoid another lockdown. He also announced that he has convened a meeting with experts and officials on Monday to take stock of the prevailing situation and chalk out measures to control the spread of the virus.
“Cases are rising in the neighbouring state of Maharashtra. People will have to help us in controlling the spread of the virus. For now, I haven’t thought of lockdown and with people’s cooperation, I don’t see the need for one. We have already faced a lot of financial issues due to the lockdown,” Yediyurappa said.
Karnataka has reported 934 cases in last 24 hours. Watch full bulletin.
