Bhartiya janata party was formed on 6th of April 1980 when Leaders having RSS background expelled from Janata Party. these expelled leaders gathered on Ferozshah Kotla ground in Delhi. that meeting was chaired by Vijayraje Scindhia. a new political outfit named Bhartiya janata party was formed in this meeting and former external affairs minister Atal bihari Vajpayee was elected first president of this party. then Vajpayee emphasised on ‘Gandhian Socialism’ but continuous eletoral faliure propelled this party towards RSS’s hindutva ideology. this ideological shift have brought success for the party and now BJP is considered as a biggest political outfit in India.
