The Supreme Court on Wednesday directed that Kerala journalist Siddique Kappan be shifted from Uttar Pradesh’s Mathura Jail to Delhi for his treatment. After his recovery, he has to be sent back to Mathura jail, the Supreme Court said. Siddique Kappan had tested positive for Covid-19 a few days ago. The Supreme Court has also granted liberty to Siddique Kappan to approach an appropriate forum challenging his arrest or for any other relief. A bench comprising Chief Justice of India NV Ramana, Justices Surya Kant and AS Bopanna gave the order while hearing the habeas petition filed by Kerala Union of Working Journalists (KUWJ).
