Eight bombs ripped through several places across three Sri Lankan cities, including the capital city of Colombo. A curfew has been imposed in the country and security forces have been ordered to remain on high alert for the next 10 days.
This is one of the worst coordinated bombing attacks to have struck the island nation in several years after the civil war ended a decade ago in 2009. Out of the 187 dead (till now), at least 39 have been identified as foreign nationals.
