A court in Maharashtra’s Kolhapur on July 8 sentenced 35-year-old Sunil, an accused in the mother’s murder case, to death. District and Sessions Judge Mahesh Jadhav described the murder as the ‘rarest of the rare’ case. The incident took place on 28 August 2017. Makarwada Society of Kolhapur district of Maharashtra. At 2 o’clock in the afternoon, accused Sunil Rama Kuchkorvi demanded money for liquor from his 62-year-old mother Yallava Rama Kuchkorvi. When Yallava refused to give the money, Sunil got angry. He killed his mother with a sharp weapon. When the neighbors came to know about the incident, Sunil started running away. People caught him and handed him over to the police. The police investigated and filed a charge sheet against him in the court.
