In this edition of Tarikh, Nikhil narrates the story of two incidents that reveals the dark past of racism in Canada. These include the St. Louis ship incident in 1939 and the Komagata Maru incident in 1914. Both Incidents shows that the imperial English history is full of injustice and cruelty. In 1914, more than 350 Indian were denied entry into Canada due to the racial immigration laws enacted just to ban the entry of Indians. In 1939, a similar incident happened when 907 jews were returned from Canada while they were trying to escape the holocaust. Many of these later died in concentration camps.
