In today’s episode of The Lallantop’s Netanagri, Editor Saurabh Dwivedi is in conversation with Rajdeep Sardesai and Rahul regarding the issue of inflation in India. The price of domestic liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders has been hiked by Rs 25. After the hike, a 14.2-kilogram cooking gas cylinder will cost Rs 884.50 in Delhi. LPG cylinder rates have increased by an equal amount in other parts of the country. In addition to high cooking gas cylinders prices, citizens are also bearing the burden of high fuel prices. While state-run oil companies have recently started cutting petrol and diesel prices, the amount of reduction remains negligible compared to the back-to-back price hikes earlier this year.
Petrol costs Rs 101.34 per litre in New Delhi and over Rs 107 per litre in Mumbai. It is retailing at 101.72 per litre in Kolkata and over Rs 99 in Chennai. There are several cities where petrol price remains above Rs 100 per litre. Diesel prices also remain elevated despite the recent cut in rates. It is retailing at Rs 88.77 per litre in the national capital and Rs 96.33 per litre in Mumbai. Diesel costs Rs 91.84 per litre in Kolkata and over Rs 93 per litre in Chennai.
