The central government has made it clear that it will not get the OBC castes counted in the census.┬аIn an affidavit filed in the Supreme Court, the Center has said that such a census is not practical.┬аThe Center has filed this affidavit in response to a petition by the Maharashtra government. The Center has pointed out that the Socio Economic and Caste Census (SECC) which was done in 2011 cannot be called OBC count.
