Navjot Singh Sidhu had resigned as the president of Punjab Congress. However, he will continue to serve the Congress party, he said.
Senior Congress leader and former Union minister Ashwani Kumar told India Today that Navjot Singh Sidhu’s resignation took the Congress party by surprise.
“It is a very unfortunate development. It has taken the party by surprise. This was not expected. A lot of political capital had been invested in nominating Mr Sidhu to the prestigious post of the PPCC president,” Ashwani Kumar said.
