In this edition of Tarikh, Nikhil narrates Akshardham Temple terrorist attack incident. On 24 September 2002, two terrorists attacked the Swaminarayan Akshardham temple in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The situation could easily be turned into a hostage situation but timely intervention of some temple Volunteers saved life of hundreds of people. In this attack 33 people were kille including 3 policemen and more than 80 were injured. Within few hours of attack India’s National Security Guard intervened and ended the siege the next day. Both the terrorists were killed by NSG. The Gujrat CM Narendra Modi accused Pakistan of the terrorist attack. Watch Complete Video to know the horrifying details of the attack.
