Joint team of the Indian Army and the Indian Navy continue their search for the two pilots, who have been missing after an army helicopter crashed into the Ranjit Sagar Dam in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir. The incident took place last Tuesday, 3 August. The deep underwater operation is especially challenging due to the near-zero visibility below 50 meters owing to the colloidal nature of water, which adversely impacts the accuracy of Sonar and other sensors, said the officials adding international assistance was being sought.
