In this episode of Social List, Ashish Mishra talks about Exit Polls 2022. Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Manipur, and Goa were held between February 10 and March 7. While voting for UP’s 403-member assembly was held in seven phases and Manipur’s 60-member assembly in two phases, voting for Punjab’s 117-member assembly, Uttarakhand’s 70-member assembly, and Goa’s 40-member assembly were held in a single phase. The BJP is the incumbent in four of these five states, while the Congress is contesting to retain power in Punjab. A video of alleged ragging at a government medical college in Haldwani, purportedly showing students with their heads shaven and hands tied at backs walking in a queue around the campus, has surfaced on social media. While no formal complaint has been lodged with the police by aggrieved students, the college management to has denied any such incident in the college. With assembly elections in five states, including Uttar Pradesh, getting over on Monday, there are apprehensions that petrol and diesel prices may be hiked across the country. Fuel prices, which were not revised for the past four months, need to be increased by more than Rs 12 per liter by March 16 for retailers to break even, according to a PTI report.
