Following the BJP’s massive victory in the 2022 assembly elections, 52 ministers were sworn in as members of Yogi Adityanath’s cabinet in Uttar Pradesh, which was re-elected for a record second term. Danish Azad Ansari is the only Muslim among the 52 ministers. Ansari, who hails from the Ballia area, took over as the minorities welfare minister in Adityanath’s 1.0 cabinet from Mohsin Raza.
