A 55-year-old man was arrested in Bengaluru for setting his son on fire after an argument broke out about their business. The incident happened on April 1 in Valmiki Nagar, Chamarajpet. The accused, Surendra Kumar, set his son, Arpit Setia, ablaze, as the latter had taken over his father’s paint fabrication business three years ago and was unable to run it properly. The Times of India reported that Arpit had borrowed more than Rs 1.5 crore apart from the rent he got from a building he had off Mysuru road. Worried that he might be running the business into the ground, Surendra asked his son to show him the accounts of the business and Arpit declined to do so. This led to an argument between the two.
