President Election 2022: As the tenure of President Ramnath Kovind nears completion, the BJP and opposition are looking at their math to get a candidate elected to the highest office in India. In this episode, Saurabh Dwivedi explains the process of election to the post of President of India. We discuss the electoral college, the value of votes of MP’s and MLA’s and the system of preference. The current reference year for calculation of value of votes per population is 1971.
We also discuss the possible factors that might come to play in President Election. Will the BJP succeed in electing another candidate per its wishes or the opposition will succeed in giving the BJP a bloody nose before 2024 elections?
