Tarikh is a daily program in which we present you with incidents and stories of noteworthy persons of Indian History in Hindi. In this edition of Tarikh, Nikhil talks about the 1982 Hijacking incident when a Sikh man Gurbaksh Singh hijacked an Indian Boeing 737 Airplane. The hijacker boarded the flight from Delhi to Amritsar. He was angry with the decision
of the Indira Gandhi government to ban the carrying of kirpan in flight. After a few hours of conversation, the hijacker surrendered and all the passengers came out safely.
