The language war has reignited again. Hours after walking with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi during the Bharat Jodo Yatra in Delhi, actor-turned-politician Kamal Haasan waded right into the language imposition debate. Retweeting a tweet by CPM-backed Rajya Sabha member from Kerala John Brittas, Kamal Haasan wrote “Kerala reflects the same and it is the feeling of half of India”. He added imposing Hindi will ruin the country.
While, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK president MK Stalin invoked Jawaharlal Nehru. He said, “Nehru echoed not just Congress’ voice but that of India. He was a PM for all of India–he was against one language, one faith, one creed, one culture, one law.. he said communalism and nationalism cannot co-exist. That is why he is hailed by secular forces.”
So, watch as panelists debate the language war issue.
