Manoj Prabhakar is often regarded as the first Indian Pacer to learn reverse swing. A fine all-rounder, Prabhakar was known for his grit. he uses to open both, batting and bowling for the Indian Cricket Team in the 90’s. A very good swing bowler, Prabhakar was a handy batsman. His career was ended by Sri Lanka Opener Sanath Jayasuriya and Romesh Kaluwitharana in the 1996 World Cup. India was playing Sri Lanka in the 24th match of Wills World Cup 1996. Sri Lanka was chasing 272 in 50 overs, regarded as a very good total in those days. Jayasuriya and Kaluwitharana gave Sri Lanka a flying start by targeting Prabhakar. They took 33 runs in his first two overs. Prabhakar later bowled two more overs in this match but he was bowling off-spin rather than his usual Medium pace.
