Indian javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra started his Tokyo 2020 journey on a roll. Neeraj qualified for the finals of Javelin throw with his first ever throw at Tokyo Olympics. Neeraj became first ever Indian javelin thrower to qualify for the finals at Olympics by hurling the javelin to 86.65 meters. the qualification mark was set at 83.50 meters and Neeraj Topped the qualification round. Another Indian javelin thrower Shivpal Singh Yadav failed to qualify for the finals.
