A Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Yuva Morcha leader was stabbed to death by unknown assailants in Karnataka’s Dharwad district. The deceased was identified as Praveen Kammar, who was also the Gram Panchayat vice president. Four people have been detained for questioning.

According to the police, the incident took place late Tuesday evening in Kotur village in the district during a temple fair. Top police sources told News9 that two people, in a drunken state, attended the Udachamma Devi temple fair and were questioned by four others – who are unrelated to the murder. Kammar intervened and broke up the altercation.
