It is possible that in future you may not see guards on goods trains. Goods trains will be operated without guard through EoTT End of Train Telemetry system. Chief Public Relations Officer of North-Central Railway, Dr. Shivam Sharma said that this system has been successfully used in a goods train between Kanpur yard and Tundla. After the experiment, the order to prepare 900 such devices have been given to the Banaras Locomotive Workshop. These devices will be installed in goods trains running from Jhansi, Prayagraj and Agra divisions of North-Central Railway. We will try to understand what the real job of guards on goods trains is, which will now be replaced by machines. What is in this new EoTT system and how will it work.
