चीन में मुसलमान और सरकार आमने-सामने है. मस्जिद को लेकर अभी बवाल ठंडा भी नहीं हुआ था की अब खबर है की चीन ने मुस्लिम इलाके शिनजियांग में दुनिया का दूसरा सबसे गहरा गड्ढा खोदना शुरू कर दिया है . चीन शिनजियांग प्रांत में धरती के 10 किलोमीटर अंदर तक छेद कर रहा है।
चीन के यूनान प्रांत में हाल ही में एक मस्जिद के पुनर्निर्माण के दौरान पुलिस और लोगों के बीच झड़प हो गई. चीन के स्थानीय प्रशासन ने यूनान प्रांत में बनी 13वीं सदी की नाजियिंग मस्जिद के गुंबद और मीनार को ढहाने का फ़ैसला किया था. इसके अलवाल चीन ने बीते कुछ साल में चीन के शिनजियांग प्रांत में लगभग 16 हजार मस्जिदों को या तो पूरी तरह गिरा दिया गया, या उन्हें बड़ा नुकसान पहुंचाया गया।
