Before the Lok Sabha elections, there has been an uproar regarding the Uniform Civil Code. Now the Muslim organization Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind has openly opposed it. The Jamiat claimed on Monday (June 19) that the Uniform Civil Code is against the religious freedom granted under the Constitution. Jamiat also said that it will not take to the streets against it and instead it will be opposed by taking all possible steps within the purview of the law. This statement of the Muslim organization came after the 22nd Law Commission started the consultation process on UCC. The Law Commission has sought opinion from common people and religious organizations for this. Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind said in a statement that it opposes the UCC as it is completely against religious freedom and fundamental rights given to citizens in Articles 25 and 26 of the Constitution.
लोकसभा चुनाव से पहले यूनिफॉर्म सिविल कोड (Uniform Civil Code) को लेकर हलचल बढ़ गई है. अब मुस्लिम संगठन जमीयत उलेमा-ए-हिंद ने इसका खुलकर विरोध किया है. जमीयत ने सोमवार (19 जून) को दावा किया कि समान नागरिक संहिता संविधान के तहत मिली धार्मिक स्वतंत्रता के खिलाफ है. जमीयत ने साथ ही ये भी कहा कि वह इसके खिलाफ सड़कों पर नहीं उतरेगा और इसके बजाय कानून के दायरे में रहकर हर संभव कदम उठाकर इसका विरोध किया जाएगा. मुस्लिम संगठन का ये बयान 22वें लॉ कमीशन की ओर से यूसीसी पर कंसल्टेशन (परामर्श) प्रक्रिया शुरू करने के बाद आया है. लॉ कमीशन ने इसके लिए आम लोगों और धार्मिक संगठनों से राय मांगी है. जमीयत उलेमा-ए-हिंद ने एक बयान में कहा कि वह यूसीसी का विरोध करता है क्योंकि ये पूरी तरह से धार्मिक स्वतंत्रता और संविधान के अनुच्छेद 25 और 26 में नागरिकों को दिए गए मौलिक अधिकारों के खिलाफ है.
