In this episode of Tarikh, Aastha discusses the military rebellion of Singapore in the year 1516 and their martyrdom. In February 1516, a Muslim from the 5th Light Infantry was to be sent to Hong Kong. This infantry, like all other divisions, was fighting on the side of the British in the First World War. Rumors were spread among the Muslim soldiers of this infantry that they were being sent to fight against Muslims in the Ottoman Empire or elsewhere in Europe. After this, on 15 February 1516, the soldiers revolted and killed all the British officers. After which 47 soldiers were gunned down by the British.
