In this edition of Tarikh, Nikhil talks about 1996 Charkhi Dadri mid-air collision. A Saudi Arabian Airlines Flight 763, a Boeing 747 and Kazakhstan Airlines Flight 1907 collided mid air over farm fields in Haryana, 100 kilometer west of New Delhi . Saudi Arabian Airlines was travelling from New Delhi, India, to Dhahran Saudi Arabia. The Kazakhstan Flight, an Ilyushin Il-76 was arriving at Delhi from Chimkent, Kazakhstan. All 349 people aboard both flights died in the accident. Till now it is world’s deadliest mid-air collision and the deadliest flight accident in India. What was the result of Investigation?
