The Winter Session of Parliament was adjourned on Friday after Opposition MPs protested over their suspension and demanded a discussion over the security lapse in Parliament on December 13. The uproar earlier too forced several adjournments, demanding a statement from the government on the security breach. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Saturday wrote to all MPs over the security lapse in Parliament and said it was unfortunate that some members of Parliament were “linking the decision of the House to suspend some members” to the Parliament security breach incident. Meanwhile, Lalit Mohan Jha, the key accused in the Parliament security breach incident, was arrested and terrorism charges were filed against the four accused under the stringent UAPA. Eight Delhi Police personnel were also suspended over the incident. The Winter Session of the Parliament, which began on December 4, will run till December 22.
