Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday said that a case has been registered against Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi, KC Venugopal and other party workers. This comes after Congress workers clashed with police following the denial of permission for Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra to enter Guwahati through its main routes.
Himanta Biswa Sarma said the FIR has been registered by the police for “wanton acts of violence, provocation , damage to public property and assault on police personnel today (January 23) by Congress members.”
