Now, negotiations are underway between Nawaz Sharif’s party, with 75 seats, and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s party, with 54 seats, along with other smaller parties. But, the twist is Independent candidates backed by jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan won the most seats – 93 – and they’re also in the mix to form a government. Pakistan’s recent elections have resulted in a hung parliament, meaning no single party has enough seats to form a government alone.
