107 people were killed during a stampede at a ‘satsang’ (religous event) in Uttar Pradesh’s Hathras on Tuesday. Among the dead were several women and children. The dead were taken to hospitals in both Hathras and the neighbouring Etah district. The Commissioner of Aligarh, Chaitra V, confirmed that as many as 107 people have died, out of which 27 have been reported from Etah district. She further stated that around 18 people were injured during the stampede.
