India Today reports that heavy rains have caused severe flooding in the border areas of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, particularly affecting Khammam, Suryapet, and Vijayawada. The Paleru river’s swelling led to a bridge collapse, halting traffic for over 24 hours. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy visited the affected areas and announced ₹5,00,000 in relief aid. The floods have resulted in significant crop damage and the loss of eight lives in Andhra Pradesh and nine in Telangana. Restoration work is ongoing.
