A PPS officer of UP police Manish Sonkar resigned from his post as he was denied leaves for taking care of his covid positive wife. He is posted in Jhansi as CO Sadar and has tendered his resignation on Sunday. He cited the reason as not getting leaves to look after his wife who is suffering from Covid. The couple has a young daughter too. On the other hand, SSP Jhansi, Rohan P Kanay said that he was initially informed about the matter on WhatsApp. Later I received the hard copy of the resignation which i forwarded to superiors.
