पश्चिम बंगाल की मुख्यमंत्री ममता बनर्जी ने केंद्र सरकार पर गंगा सागर मेले को नज़रअंदाज़ करने का आरोप लगाया है. उन्होंने कहा कि केंद्र कुंभ मेले पर करोड़ों खर्च करता है, लेकिन गंगा सागर के लिए एक पैसा नहीं देता. अखाड़ा परिषद के अध्यक्ष रविंद्र पूरी ने ममता के बयान का विरोध किया है. बीजेपी ने ममता पर राजनीति करने का आरोप लगाया है. समीक भट्टाचार्य ने कहा कि ममता ने हिंदुस्तान की श्रद्धालुओं की भावनाओं के साथ खिलवाड़ किया है.

She said that the Center spends crores on the Kumbh Mela, but does not give a single penny for Ganga Sagar. Akhara Parishad President Ravindra Puri has opposed Mamata’s statement.
